What is Empowerment Fitness®?

 

Runners, walkers, bikers, and rowers will all tell you the same thing, "I do my best thinking when I'm working out." This is the idea behind Empowerment Fitness®, an original mind/body program for adults and teens the combines exercise with a step-by-step process for becoming their best selves. Research shows that when you move your body in a rhythmic way, you are able to think more clearly and absorb information at a very deep level. Empowerment Fitness® taps into this powerful learning state and guides you through a process for blasting through obstacles and reaching goals.  

 

What kind of goals can I achieve with Empowerment Fitness®? 

 

Individuals who have used the Empowerment Fitness® process have made wonderful, lasting changes in their lives, such as finding new careers, sticking to an exercise program, and improving relationships. Cancer survivors have used this program to develop a positive mindset for thinking about their future. And teens have used it to be their best self, no matter what stress they face. 

 

How does it work?

 

Empowerment Fitness® is a six-step program designed to improve motivation, clarify personal goals, and develop an optimistic mindset- all done while you exercise. Our enthusiastic trainers exercise with you at the same time as you work through our process. 

 

I've been stuck for a long time.  How can Empowerment Fitness® help me?

 

The process begins by understanding that feeling "stuck" is an important part of how we grow. it's a time of transition when we are gathering strength and energy, getting ready to make a change. First, we boost self-confidence by identifying our strenths- those things about ourselves that we wouldn't change no matter what. Creating a specific, exciting, perfect-for-me goal that's called "vision" is the next step. Participants learn how to become a possibility thinker, identify and blast through self-limiting beliefs, surround themselves with empowering partners and, finally, learn the importance of striving for greatness, not perfection. The psychological operating principle behind each step is that individuals make changes in their lives when they feel strong, supported, have a clear, positive vision of where they are headed and can rebound from disappointments.

 

I'm really out of shape. What kind of exercise are you talking about?     

 

Empowerment Fitness® works with any fitness level. We will work with you to find an acitivity that is right for you. Any exericse that depends on rhythmic movement and can safely be done without too much concentration (i.e. walking, running, riding a stationary bike) is great for Empowerment Fitness®.

 

This sounds great. Can I bring a friend?

 

Absolutely! We offer Empowerment Fitness® one-on-one with a trainer, in small groups, or mid-size groups. The exercise varies to meet the individual or group needs, but the process is always the same.
